This is the Mahara family from Canada. They live in Vancouver and are planning to come to Hong Kong for one week for a family holiday.
• The family ranges in age from Grandfather, who is 62, to the youngest, Rachel, who is 3 years old.
• This will be the Mahara family’s first visit to Hong Kong and they are looking forward to seeing all of the famous sights and to taking part in fun activities that the whole family can enjoy.
• The Mahara family all speak English and Japanese
Over the next three lessons you are going to learn how to make an effective presentation to the rest of the class, based on the topic of “Welcome to Hong Kong”
You have been asked to prepare a presentation for the Mahara family to help them make the most of their time in Hong Kong. It is your job to tell them about what you think are the best places to see and things to do to help them find out about the real Hong Kong. They will have time to visit 5 different places.
Your presentation is to be aimed at the whole Mahara family. This means you have to make your presentation understandable by a wide range of ages and still hold their attention.
Homework 1
Collect information about five places worth of visiting in and around Hong Kong. Use website, books, and travel journals, you must keep a bibliography of the information that you have used along with where you have collected you images from, cite either the website, book or if its a picture you have taken, then cite yourself as the photography.

Write a script for your voice over for your presentation, use the script/speakers note feature of your software for making your notes. You will be recording your voice during the next lesson.
When your work is finished you will make a presentation to the whole class and your PowerPoint will be added to this site.
