The key to any successful evaluation is to make judgments about the originality and value of the ideas and solutions. By using a range of evaluation tools or strategies, you can evaluate your design ideas and products by comparing them against original design criteria and by suggesting improvements, to further their development.

  • Easy to use

  • Works well

  • Looks and feels good

To help with your evaluation you can adapt the following sentences and changing some of the words which are in red or filling in the gaps.

  1. The materials that I used to make my mechanical toy from are pine, dowel and mdf, they were suitable because the pine and mdf were easy to saw and shape and the dowels were already cut to the right diameter.
  2. I designed my mechanical toy for my husband, you can tell this because I made it to the theme of jukeboxes which my husband collects.
