Hi my name is Jutka Czirok and this page is all about me....

I grew up and went to school in England with most of my schooling at Great Sankey Primary School and then Penketh High School near Warrington, Cheshire. At 16 I began work as a trainee layout artist at Karritainers Ltd, then Ferranti Engineering Ltd, I spent some time travelling, Europe, and Canada, then settled into college in Blackpool, where I studied Technical Illustration (Advanced Diploma in Technical and Visual Communications). It was and still is, a great 3 year course, which involved the study of illustration both technical and scientific, graphics and print technology, some computer technology using BBC computers and a Quantel Paintbox. We studied photography and video technology, and engineering as well as drawing and painting skills, and as you can imagine technology has come along way since 1980! As part of the course, students spend time in industry during the second year, I was fortunate enough to spend three months at Sandbach Engineering in Cheshire, and then 9 months working as a freelance illustrator for an agency (Kurzbach GmbH) in Stuttgart, home of Mercedez Benz, Siemens, IBM, and Liebherr to name just a few of our clients!! After completing college I returned to Stuttgart to work for the same agency (now called Techdok GmbH). During the third year of college, we continued working for clients on live projects, including British Leyland, City & Guilds, and I was fortunate enough to do some work for Professor Rosalie David, Egyptologist at the Manchester Museum, Egyptian Department, which was a fantastic opportunity personally as I had been so impressed by the Tutankhamun exhibition I had seen as a child in at the British Museum, London in 1972.

Returning to Stuttgart to work as a Freelance Technical Illustrator, I enjoyed 5 years working on contracts from Mercedez Benz, and Liebherr, finally moving to a new agent EDAG (formally Eckard Design) working in Munich, Ingolstadt and then Wolfsburg for a range of clients from the automobile industry, including Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Opel, and Porsche.

1997 I returned to England, and started to attend Mid-Cheshire College, studying accounting, book-keeping, payroll, business and personnel management, and gained a range of qualifications for this 2 year course as part of a return to work initiative run by the college. After starting my second year a chance meeting with lecturer Jane Francis from the School of Art & Design, she invited me to teach technical illustration for 3 hours a week to her students. After a few weeks my hours were increased, and I taught at Mid-Cheshire College School of Art & Design full time for 5 years. The student I taught were 16+ years of age, and I taught a range of subjects including technical and scientific illustration, spatial design, graphic design, water colour classes , art and design history lectures, and multi-media. Many students arriving at the college in 1998 had very basic, if any computer skills, so students were taught a range of software including Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Soundforge, Apple iMovies, Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, and Director, Studio Max3D and Strata 3D using Apple Macintosh computers.
Whilst lecturing at Mid-Cheshire College I completed the City & Guilds 7307 Part 1&2 Teaching Certificate for Post 16 and Adult Education. I was interested in the younger pupils I taught and decide to retrain as a secondary teacher and chose to do a BA Honours Degree Design Technology in Education at Manchester Metropolitan University based at Crewe and Alsager (Cheshire). The two year course required us to complete educational studies, pedagogy, as well as materials and workshop studies, product design including working on live projects for a local international client Fresius Kabi. As part of the course we spent 25 weeks training in schools, I spent time at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, Eaton Bank School, Congleton, and Brine Leas High School, Nantwich.
On completion of my degree, I spent one year teaching at Sir Thomas Boteler Church of England School under the guidance of Rhiannon Pearson (Head of Department) and Teacher of the Year 2005 Gill Petley - AST, before moving with my family to Hong Kong to teach at Sha Tin College in 2006.
